Learning how to read an analog clock is a skill that has the opportunity for real life application. 21st century students live their lives in a digital age and lack exposure to analog clocks even though wrist watches and analog clocks are still used in daily life. To give students an opportunity to apply this skill and gain exposure I do “What Time Is It.” Each day I select 2 students. They each wear an analog wrist watch and a necklace that says “Ask me what time it is.” This allows these students to practice reading clocks throughout the day. I also encourage parents to purchase analog clocks for their children to wear in order for them to practice this skill.
